Missouri Smart Growth PAC
With the current set of office holders unwilling to tackle the issues created by unbridled development, Chuck MacNab formed Missouri Smart Growth PAC to support candidates who embraced Smart Growth and conservative principles. No stranger to political causes, Chuck regularly comments on local, state and national issues in his RiteOn.org Blog and RiteOn PAC.
The Challenge
Chuck had been able to raise some funds for Missouri Smart Growth PAC (MSGPAC), but with the primary election less than eight weeks away, he needed to act quickly to create awareness for his cause and preferred candidates. Knowing that time was short and funds limited, Chuck was looking for ideas on how to use the internet when he contacted Red State New Media.
Red State New Media's Response
Red State New Media recommended a comprehensive online campaign that could be executed quickly and within MSGPAC’s budget. The plan included:
- Securing thousands of email addresses for registered voters in the area at a cost of $.20 per email address. The “email append” process matches the voter file to a very large database that includes email addresses.
- Establishing credibility for Missouri Smart Growth PAC with a professional website.
- Survey voters to engage them in the Smart Growth cause. Surveys not only began building a relationship with the voters, but the results also provided valuable insight and content for the website.
- Conducting an email campaign to raise awareness and promote the slate of candidates.
