As a 5th generation Kansan, I would be humbled by the opportunity to serve the people and state I love in the United States House of Representatives. Americans know that these are difficult times for our nation. As Kansans, we also know that the values of faith and freedom that have made our state strong will help our nation overcome any obstacle. This is the story of America, and it is the story of Kansas.
What I hope to bring to Washington is leadership based on service, sacrifice and hard work – and a good measure of Kansas common sense.
My work ethic has been developed over countless hours growing up and working on my family’s farm. That, combined with my faith and my concern for people of all ages, will be put to good use fighting to protect our way of life. With a deep appreciation for my roots I will be an advocate for agriculture.
Working for Congressman Jerry Moran was one of the most gratifying experiences of my life. He instilled in me a deep sense of care and concern for our great state and its people. Congressman Moran also modeled principled leadership. It is with this strong sense of purpose that I am running to represent the people of the First District of Kansas.
I have worked with hundreds of Kansas businesses as a commercial real estate agent. From this work I have gained valuable experience and insights into real world economic development. I understand that jobs are not created by Congress, but by Kansans. As your representative, I will fight to restore fiscal responsibility to Washington, reduce taxes, and eliminate wasteful spending. Kansans have to make hard choices about their finances. So should Washington.
Whether farming and working cattle, serving the people of the district, or working to grow Kansas businesses, I have learned that there are no shortcuts. I have also learned that through hard work, service and sacrifice, the American dream is alive and well in our state.
With determination and a strong appreciation for the freedoms in our country, our finest days can still be ahead.
My wife Audrey and I greatly appreciate your friendship and support.
