Voter Information
Candidates for Office
Below are your 2010 MeckGOP Candidates. We are pleased to note that (for the first time in a long time) voters in every single part of Mecklenburg County will have a Republican option for every partisan race.
Primary Day is May 4 (although you'll be able to vote during Early One-Stop Voting from April 15 through May 1). We have a lot of quality candidates running for these Republican Nominations, and they deserve your thoughtful attention.
Election Day will be November 2. However, you'll want to plan to take October 14th off to join all of your Republican Friends at the "Party at the Polls" on October 14th to lock in as many Republican votes as possible for our Candidates at the very first opportunity. (In case you can't make it to the party at the polls on October 14th, Early One-Stop Voting will extend from October 14 through October 30.)
Finally, please take special note of the the "nonpartisan" judicial elections listed below. In the 1990s and turn of the millenium, NC voters were just sending far too many Republican judges to the bench (or at least thats what the powers-that-be in Raleigh thought). So, in 2004, they made judicial elections "nonpartisan." After all, if the voters insist on electing Republican judges, then they'll just quit telling voters which judges are the Republicans on the ballot.
Thus, you'll want to memorize the judicial candidates below (or print the list and take it with you to the polls). Additionally, because of this "nonpartisan" status, it's especially important that Republicans turn out and vote our Republican judicial candidates through the primary process in May ... otherwise, we won't have a Republican choice in November.
