Albany’s Culture of Corruption

When New York City Democrats took complete control of all branches of state government, it set in motion a series of disastrous decisions.

Spending spiraled out of control…

Taxes were sent skyrocketing…

And the state’s notoriously weak ethical standards were ignored.

No wonder the state legislature has been called the most dysfunctional legislative body in the country.

Ethics

Today, the Albany culture of corruption and ethical lapses are the backdrop against which legislators are more interested in serving themselves, the political bosses and the special interests than in serving the taxpayers and voters.

No wonder the state’s in such terrible fiscal shape… and why jobs are fleeing the state in droves.

Albany’s culture of corruption and non-existent ethics must stop! We must pass tough new ethics laws and force legislators to reveal their secret, outside sources of income… so voters can see if votes are being compromised by outside influences.

Taxes

In spite of their fights with each other, the Democrats have been able to all agree on one thing: Higher taxes and fees and even more laws that drive local property taxes soaring. No wonder New York residents pay the highest state and local taxes in the country. These taxes ruin family budgets and drive jobs out of the state. We need a senator who knows it’s more important to control spending than to hike taxes. That’s why I’m running for senator.

State Debt

The state is drowning in debt – this year’s debt is already more than $10 billion – yet legislators insist on spending billions they don’t have on wasteful pork and favors for contributors and special interests. This debt is destroying our state’s economy and places a terrible burden on taxpayers. This overspending and debt must stop.
